Who we are and what this covers
Horus Skyworks (“we,” “us”) is a drone services company serving Southern California. This policy covers information we collect through horusskyworks.com, when you contact us, when we provide services, and when independent contractors work with us. It applies to individuals and to people who contact us on behalf of a business, such as our clients’ employees and our vendors. Imagery and data we capture for a client project is also governed by that project’s agreement.

Sensitive information. The only sensitive personal information we collect is the taxpayer identification number on a contractor’s W-9 form. We use it only for tax reporting and as the law requires, never to infer anything about you. Please don’t send us Social Security, driver’s license, or financial account numbers through this website.
Other uses. We also use information as needed to keep this website secure and free of abuse, to comply with law and respond to legal process or aviation authorities, and to protect people and property. We don’t use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers who work on our behalf under contract and may use it only to serve us: Cloudflare (website hosting, security, spam protection, and analytics), Resend (delivers contact-form messages to our inbox), Google Workspace (business email and file storage), and our accounting and payment providers.
- Pilots and contractors who fly or support a project, limited to what they need for that project and under a written agreement.
- Professional advisors such as our insurers, accountants, and attorneys.
- People you ask us to work with, such as your licensed land surveyor, engineer, or contractor.
- The client who commissioned a project, who receives the imagery and data we capture for it.
- Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or legal process, respond to government or aviation authorities, or protect people and property.
- Business changes: if our business is sold or reorganized, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
- With your consent, for any other purpose.
We don’t sell or share your information
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We haven’t done either in the last 12 months, and that includes information about anyone under 16. We don’t offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
Cookies, analytics, and online tracking
- Our website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without building profiles of individual visitors. Cloudflare may also use strictly necessary security technologies, including Turnstile on our quote form, to tell people from bots.
- The Service Areas section of our home page shows an interactive map provided by Google. When it loads, Google may collect your IP address and usage information and may set cookies, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Other than Google through that map, we don’t allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our site.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. We don’t track visitors across websites, sell personal information, or share it for targeted advertising, so there’s nothing for these signals to switch off, and our practices don’t change in response to them. If we ever start activities these signals apply to, we’ll honor GPC as a valid request to opt out and update this policy first.
Aerial imagery and privacy
- We fly under FAA rules and California law, and we plan each flight to capture the client’s site, not its surroundings.
- We don’t intentionally record people in private settings, and we don’t use imagery to identify individuals.
- We don’t publish client imagery, in our portfolio or anywhere else, without the client’s permission.
- If you believe our imagery shows you or your property and you’d like it reviewed, blurred, or removed where possible, contact us at info@horusskyworks.com.
How long we keep information
We keep each category of information only as long as described under Information we collect, and why. In deciding how long that is, we consider why we collected it, whether you’re an active client, our tax, insurance, and legal obligations, and whether the information is needed to resolve disputes or support a project. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect information
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website, two-step verification on our business accounts, and limited, need-to-know access to client, contractor, and project information. Tax forms are stored with restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us, and if a breach affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as California law and other applicable laws require.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you, including the categories, where it came from, why we use it, and who we share it with, and get a copy in a commonly used format.
- Correct information that’s inaccurate.
- Delete information about you, subject to records the law requires us to keep.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, and limit the use of sensitive information. We don’t do any of these things, but you can still tell us not to, and we’ll record your choice.
No discrimination: we won’t deny you service, charge you a different price, or treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
How to make a request
- Email info@horusskyworks.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
Verification: to protect your information, we’ll confirm your identity by matching details you give us with what we already have, usually by replying to the email address on file. We’ll use those details only to verify your request. You don’t need an account with us to make a request.
Timing: we’ll confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we’ll tell you why. Requests are free; we may decline requests that are clearly unfounded or excessive and will explain why.
Authorized agents: someone you authorize, including a business registered with the California Secretary of State, can make a request for you with your signed permission. We may still ask you to confirm your identity or the permission directly with us.
Appeals: if we decline your request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our decision. We’ll respond to an appeal within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.
State privacy notices
Some state laws require specific notices. The rights described above already apply to everyone; this section adds what particular states require.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA) and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of the sale or sharing of, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. You can use them as described under How to make a request.
- Disclosures for the last 12 months: we collected the categories listed under Information we collect, and why, from the sources and for the purposes listed there, and disclosed them for business purposes only to the recipients listed there. We did not sell or share personal information.
- Notice at collection: our quote form includes a short notice of what we collect and why, with a link to this policy.
- Shine the Light (Civil Code § 1798.83): we don’t disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
Residents of other states
Several other states give residents rights similar to those above, including the right to appeal a decision about a request. We honor those rights for everyone, as described in this policy.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Emails and text messages
We email you to respond to inquiries and about projects you’ve hired us for. We don’t send marketing emails unless you ask to receive them, and any we send will include an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. We don’t send marketing text messages.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as Google Maps. Their privacy practices are their own, so review their policies before sharing information with them.
Other formats and languages
If you need this policy in another format, such as large print or read aloud over the phone, or in another language, contact us and we’ll provide it. See our Accessibility statement for more.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll change the dates at the top of this page. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information, we’ll post a notice on this website before the change takes effect.
